Since excessively large breasts can negatively impact a woman both physically and emotionally, Dr. Morin specializes in breast reduction surgery in NJ. Also known as a reduction mammaplasty, a breast reduction reduces the size of large, unequal and disproportionate breasts by removing excess breast tissue and skin. The remaining tissue is reshaped into a younger appearing, better-proportioned breast. As a specialist in reconstructive and cosmetic surgery, Dr. Morin’s breast reduction technique minimizes the physical and psychological discomfort associated with overly large breasts. As a highly trained board-certified plastic surgeon, Dr. Morin has the expertise necessary to perform this procedure in order to help women achieve a more desirable breast size that is proportionate to their unique figure.
As one of Dr. Morin’s main areas of focus, a breast reduction is an option for women in good health who desire a more balanced bosom. While it is important for candidates to maintain realistic expectations, breast reduction surgery can address your concerns if you experience symptoms such as:
It is common for our patients to feel some degree of embarrassment due to their overly large breasts. Dr. Morin’s mammaplasty surgery not only helps reduce breast size, but it also helps to restore confidence, and make women feel better about themselves and their appearance.
Many women seek treatment to reduce the painful effects of their large breasts, while also improving their self-confidence and overall quality of life. Since the procedure diminishes the size and weight of the breasts it’s completely customizable based on your specific needs and desires. Dr. Morin’s breast reduction method raises the breast mound to create a rounder and more pleasing breast shape. His technique works to elevate the nipple-areolar and reduce the size of the areolas. The results of a breast reduction are visible immediately. In general, women report a high level of satisfaction with the appearance of their breasts and with the improvement in their lives.
During the 2 hour-long breast reduction procedure patients are under anesthesia for enhanced comfort. To reduce the size of your breasts, Dr. Morin utilizes a combination of liposuction and surgical techniques to reduce visible scarring and maximize your aesthetic goals. Once breast tissue and fat are removed, the skin is lifted and shaped according to the appearance you’d like to achieve. After your surgery at our NJ facility, Dr. Morin will provide you with aftercare instructions and medication. A follow-up appointment will be scheduled as well.

Though the breast reduction procedure is relatively quick, preparation should begin weeks in advance for adequate recovery. Since you’ll be under the effects of anesthesia, we recommend scheduling a ride home from surgery for safety purposes. To be as comfortable as possible at home after surgery you should have the following supplies on hand: ice, sanitary washcloths/towels, gauze, loose t-shirts, and recommended ointments. Dr. Morin will discuss specifics during your breast reduction consultation.
After your breast reduction surgery, we recommend wearing a supportive bra to optimize healing. Patients should rest and avoid excess movement for two weeks following treatment. During this time, swelling and bruising will subside and additional discomfort can be treated with medication. At your first follow-up appointment Dr. Morin will address bandages and stitches. While most patients can return to work within 2 weeks of surgery, you should avoid physical activity for at least 1 month to promote proper healing.
As with most surgical procedures, there is some degree of scarring following your breast reduction surgery. Depending on the surgeon’s technique and your specific surgical goals, a small scar may be seen by the underarm or beneath the breast. Dr. Morin’s advanced technique minimizes visible scarring and most breast reduction scars fade within a year of surgery. In the meantime, any scarring can be hidden while wearing a bathing suit or undergarment.
